WHO ARE WE ???

Dear friends,
Now & then some of my friends are driven to raise existential questions to which there can be, it seems to me, no easy answers ; but only counter-questions !

WHO ? **
-------------

May be we are piles of life-files
Are we not
Into the niches of which
Are nuzzled DNA's

Of needs, moods, ' quality time '
Even turns of events unanticipated
Meanings
Virtually bytes of all being
That we merely reinvent
Tools to cut & paste, links
To standalone sites, infinite ;

With which we could mess around, risk
Would not risk, choose not ---
Trumped by a, say, wily workmate
By a natural desire overpitching
a la some politico-mythic belief
Or chivvied by a dated f-in-law
Into a post-family network ---
To search, reclaim, recreate
Organize the ' string ' dimensions
Of life ?

Or just like that Should we --
who ? -- exit ?
Whereto ?

Welcome, dr gurudutt.

That was a beautiful narration of ‘who we are?’ in computer lingo. But, only the non-availability of “undo” or “delete” button makes the life all the more complicated; nevertheless, interesting!

The existential question posed in the poetry, “exit, whereto?” is very poignant and sometimes, destabilizing………… sets us on an introspective mode………

Thanks.

Sometimes I think about the human psyche as a collection of cells, each one clueless, but the sum of parts quite interesting. Just like an ant colony. Science reveals much that should make us trim our egos.

aamod, u have said, ".....psyche as a collection of cells, each one clueless, but the sum of parts quite interesting."

the gestalt psychologists also say the same - the whole is much more than the sum of its parts. i feel that it is the scientific, logical, analytical left-brain that invents so many things/concepts that only feed our Ego; whereas, i feel, it is the right-brain that is holistic in its approach that can trim and slowly dissolve our Ego.

where physics ends, metaphysics begin!
